The Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation (DAEOC) is a private, not-for-profit organization governed by a local tri-partite board. The board is composed of eighteen persons from Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Scott, and Stoddard counties in the Bootheel. The board consists of equal numbers of private sector, public sector, and low-income representatives. This organizational structure brings together local community leaders from each of the representative groups to respond to specific community needs.
DAEOC forms a network of resources and individuals all united under the self-help principal of creating community solutions to community problems. Services are made available through a blending of federal, state, and local funding. By combining funding sources, the agency provides services that best meet the needs of our community.
